Selective Mutism

Selective Mutism (SM) is defined as a disorder of childhood characterized by an inability to speak in certain settings (e.g. at school, in public places) despite speaking in other settings (e.g. at home with family). Most think it's shyness, stubbornness, or rudeness, but it is indeed a real disorder. It is believed that SM is twice as common as Autism, yet it has so little awareness. We desperately need more awareness and we need your help! Please show your support by "liking" the Facebook page using the link at the bottom of your screen and share the page with all your friends. The more people we get to join, the more we are getting the word out of this disorder. Thanks!!! :)
